THE SCOPE OF DATA
When we refer to “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean MyChama by Chamacom. When we refer to “you” or “your,” we mean the person accessing the site or using the App. If the person accessing the site does so on behalf of another person, including a business or other organization, "you" or "your" also means that other person, including a business organization. Suppose You provide us with personal information about someone else. In that case, You confirm that they are aware that you’ve provided their information and that they consent to our use of their information according to our Privacy Policy. You may opt-out at any time to prevent further use of the information shared via any of our Services.
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of our Services. It covers information collected in connection with your access to and use of our Services, including those Services provided through our sites and/or online. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By interacting with our Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Please also read MyChama's Terms of Service, which describes the terms under which you use our Services.
HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION
We want to inform you that your data are collected when:
- You register on our website, use it, or you use our MyChama app when you fill out all application forms or submit applications for our products or services provided on our website or MyChama App when you contact our employees or which are provided in any other way;
- You report a problem or communicate with us about our products or services;
- You participate in discussion groups or use social media such as Facebook, Instagram,
- You participate in our promotions actions, contests or surveys, or other activities provided through our websites or social media profiles.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND USE
- Registration and Account Information: When you use the MyChama App, you voluntarily give us personal information (e.g., full legal name, national ID number (back-to-back), email address, profile photo, mobile number, date of birth, county and country, gender, and when necessary, billing information), and any other information you would provide to us. That means your name and photo (if you choose to provide them) will be visible to other MyChama members, and they can search you by name or phone number unless you change your settings. We may suggest you as a possible contact to people we believe you may know (without revealing your phone number) unless you turn off this option.
- Contact Information : When you install the MyChama App, you will be prompted to provide us access to your mobile device's address book. NOTE: When we access your address book, we ONLY upload phone numbers and filter out other information such as complete names, email addresses, ID numbers, and any other information. The App next performs contact-check verification to determine if these phone numbers exist or correspond with already registered Chama members in our data centers. The verification process compares phone numbers to those previously registered in the MyChama App. If we identify a phone number that matches in our system, the App creates a new contact list. Remember that we do not SAVE any data throughout the matching process. If, on the other hand, no match is found, the data is removed from the submitted list.
- Usage and Log Information: We may collect service-related, diagnostic, and performance information via the use of an API (Application Programming Interface). This includes information about your activity (such as how you use our Services, interact with others using our Services, and the like), log files, diagnostic, crash, website, and performance logs and reports.
- Personal Information: Your contact information, such as your email address or phone number, is used to validate your account and keep it (and our services) safe, as well as to help prevent spam, fraud, and abuse. We also use your contact information to enable some account features (such as OTP verification codes), send you information, and customize our services. If you provide us your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from MyChama to that number as permitted by your country's regulations. You may upload and sync your address book to MyChama to help you locate and connect with people/groups you know, as well as to help others find and connect with you.
- Groups/Chamas Information : We also use this information to better recommend groups to you and others and to help others find your account if your settings permit, including through third-party services and client applications.
- Transactional/Statement Information: If you pay or contribute using our Services, we may receive information and confirmations, such as payment receipts, from other third parties processing your payment.
- Device and Connection Information: We may collect device-specific information when installing, accessing, or using our Services. This includes hardware model, operating system information, browser information, IP address, mobile network information including phone number, and device identifiers for diagnostics and troubleshooting purposes, especially when you have trouble with our App's features.
